FINISHED: End of August

Well I bought this one awhile back when I had just begun my obsessive booking collecting. I got it because the back story on it sounded really interesting. I mean a girl who gets sucked into other peoples dreams. It makes you wonder what that's like for the person. After I bought the book it sat on my shelf for awhile. I finally decided that I would read it, and to be honest it took me awhile to read it. I liked the whole concept of the book, but the way it was written like journal entries wasn't really for me. I did manage to read it all, and I'm glad I did it was a good story.

I do have to say I wasn't pulled into liking Janie as the main Character though. I actually liked the guy she fell for. Yes, she fell for a guy. Don't they all? Cabel, to me was a more believable character his weird dreams he had about his father. He was that mysterious guy who hung out with the goth kids. You never actually got to know who he really is until almost the end of it. Half way through the book he starts to ignore Janie for the more popular girls, but is it what it seems? Do they resolve their issues? Questions that only you can answer by reading it.

  1. Interesting review. Haven't read it but I agree with how annoying it is to read a book written in journal entries.

There's an award waiting for you here. Congrats!

  2. Great review. I like your discussion on Cabel. It's so hard to create a truly realistic yet romantic "bad boy." I think Cabel becomes more attractive and understandable as the series goes on. The third is my fav.

  3. Yeah I really liked Caleb. I need 2 read Fade. I really like this series.

  4. Gasp! Those are my favorite kinds of books! Well, kinda. I actually didn't like this book. I read the second one and hated that one. I really love books that are written in letter form (epistolary). This one doesn't count because I hated it and she was writing to herself. You should try Jaclyn Moriarty novels. Specifically, Year of Secret Assignments. Very good!

  5. Humm I'll have to check that one out.
I haven't yet read the second book in the series. I do have it though on my shelf waiting like alot of others.

I love comments! Leave me one, and I will comment back either on here or on yours! So check back!

Happy Reading and Blogging, Ashley
