Elemental Reality Blog Tour

Welcome to the Elemental Reality Blog Tour.
As I'm one of the stops I figured I give you a little info.
Want to know who else will be on the tour: Elemental Reality Tour

When Callie Pierce was ten, her mother disappeared without a trace. On the eve of her disappearance twelve years later, the Earth seemingly comes alive. The elements speak to Callie, and that's only the beginning. Everything she has ever known was a twisted fabrication to protect her. Now the truth is set free. Callie and her sister are more powerful than any Faerie ever born. Now they have to use their powers to save their mother and family from the evil hands of fate that threaten to tear them apart. Welcome to her elemental reality!

We got to ask the author a question so here was mine because I love names. If it's unusual I like it even more. Enjoy!

1.) When naming your characters, do you give any thought to the actual meaning?
When I started filling out my character list the first thing I did was go to and went through each page of names. I wrote down the ones I loved. A couple names I used were solely based on their meaning. Take Timber for example. I chose that name for a minor character in my book because the meaning of that name matched his features. I love unique names or names I’ve heard. Naming characters is really not an easy process, for me at least. I used so many different names until they finally clicked. I’d talk out loud pretending I was having a conversation with said character and kept repeating everything until the names just rolled off my tongue with ease. That’s when I knew I found the perfect name. four of the names I had already had a home in the story with their specific character. Scarlett, Callie, Lola, & Oli were those names and I believe they were a perfect match for their characters.

  1. Lol. How useful is I don't think I've met a writer who hasn't flipped through it once! I used to go through the special sounding names and see if they matched my characters but now I find it too time consuming and way OCD. Great question and answer!

  2. Not a problem Cesya. :)

Lan: That's what I sorta do I think of how I want my character and then I go type in "Dark names" or "vampire names". I love for my characters to have unique names if possible. Perhaps just random words. I have a document going on word that says character names.

I love comments! Leave me one, and I will comment back either on here or on yours! So check back!

Happy Reading and Blogging, Ashley

I Had to turn on word verification. Sorry! I'm tired of getting spam.
